Welcome to Bike Buddies Cycling Club
Bike Buddies Cycling Club is the result of two groups of riders and friends merging together with a goal to advance participation in cycling and cycling related activities. Though we are a licensed United States Cycling Federation club, most of our riders have never raced, nor will they! Some did not even start to ride a bike until well into their adult lives.
We welcome all skill levels of riding from someone who has never been on a group ride to professional cyclists. Some members race on the road, some in a velodrome, some are mountain bike racers, some are ultra distance riders, and finally some just like to go out and ride with their friends every Saturday. Everyone will benefit, have fun, and maybe learn a thing or two about cycling and how to be better.
In the end, we have two main objectives and they are to increase participation in the sport of cycling at any level and to improve our local community. If either of these objectives sound like something you would be interested in being involved with, come on out and ride with us! We usually ride in the East County of San Diego.
Get out there and ride!

July 26 is our annual Tour de Islands ride. Start time is 8:00am. This year's ride starts at the parking lot just north of the Mission Bay Visitor Center. We'll ride south, enter Fiesta Island and then along the San Diego River bike path past Sea World and take the bridge over Sunset Cliffs and then catch Nimitz to Catalina to the Cabrillo Monument. We'll backtrack along Catalina to Canon and down to Shelter Island where we'll take a bathroom break, grab a photo before going on to Harbor Island. We'll circumnavigate Harbor Island and then head over to Spanish Landing before getting onto the old NTC bridge. We'll stop at Starbuck's for a break and a surprise or two. Then it is only a 6 mile ride back to the start.
Time is getting close. Sign up to be a BBCC volunteer. Our club has been a major supporter for this ride for the last several years. Everyone that has participated has enjoyed themsleves.
