Welcome to Bike Buddies Cycling Club

Bike Buddies Cycling Club is the result of two groups of riders and friends merging together with a goal to advance participation in cycling and cycling related activities. Though we are a licensed United States Cycling Federation club, most of our riders have never raced, nor will they! Some did not even start to ride a bike until well into their adult lives.

We welcome all skill levels of riding from someone who has never been on a group ride to professional cyclists.  Some members race on the road, some in a velodrome, some are mountain bike racers, some are ultra distance riders, and finally some just like to go out and ride with their friends every Saturday.  Everyone will benefit, have fun, and maybe learn a thing or two about cycling and how to be better. 

In the end, we have two main objectives and they are to increase participation in the sport of cycling at any level and to improve our local community.  If either of these objectives sound like something you would be interested in being involved with, come on out and ride with us!  We usually ride in the East County of San Diego.

We meet at Starbuck's (near PetCo) in Rancho San Diego, off of Fury Dr. and Jamacha Rd. in El Cajon, CA. We group together ready to ride at 8:00 am on Saturday mornings. Some in the group may leave a little earlier but the main group rolls out at 8:00 am. We head out towards Alpine and back with different level of riders turning around at their skill level. We meet back up for a little social time after the ride.

Upcoming Rides

August 1  Our group ride leaves on Saturday at 8:00 am from Starbucks (near Petco), Rancho San Diego, 2512 Jamacha Road El Cajon, CA 92019. All level of riders are welcome to come out and enjoy a great ride. Some just go to the Dehesa Bridge and back (approx. 21 miles), while others go up Dehesa and make a loop back to Rancho San Diego (approx. 31 miles, we return for coffee and snacks after the ride. Visitors and new riders, the coffee is on us!

Summer Membership Meeting

August 1 will be our annual group meeting at Mike C's house in Alpine. This will be held at 3:30 pm on Saturday. There will be food, drinks, and a short general meeting. Come and enjoy a nice afternoon at a beautiful house with your cycling friends.


Road Clean-up August 8

Mark your calendars, another road clean-up is coming. We maintain a 2 mile stretch along Willow Glen from Jamacha Rd. Bring a change of clothes and your comfortable shoes. We go in groups so we get done quicker and usually some meet afterwards for lunch.


Bike the Bay

Bikeless Buddies Dinner

June 27 we had another great dinner night at Himalayan Cuisine (7918 El Cajon Blvd., La Mesa) with other BikeBuddies friends.  Dinner was followed with coffee at Starbucks to finish off the night.
